III Volume and Mass (Skin Project)

The object of this assignment was to choose 3 objects around campus and 'wrap' them in order to change the way they are perceived.

My personal goal with this was to choose objects that normally involve a lot of negative space, and, using my wrappings, eliminate that space in order to create a more massive, more indeterminate object.

These portray a wrapped table, statue, and bike rack, respectively.

II Line and Space

This project had two parts: building sculptures of objects out of wire, and constructing a sculpture out of two 8' 2x2's with 7 cuts.

So here's my wire objects: intended to be a lamp, shoe, and gorilla.

And my wood sculpture, codenamed "Driftwood" (thanks to the suggestion of a classmate)

I Elements of 3D Design (pt2)

For this project we had to use a variety of styrofoam shapes and wooden skewers to construct sculptures representing the following principles:
Symmetrical Balance, Asymmetrical Balance, Radial Balance, Scale & Proportion, Emphasis, Contrast, Variety, and Repetition & Rhythm.

Here's what my group came up with.
